1. Initial Consultation
When you call in to one of our tax enrollment specialist, we provide you with a free consultation. We will explain the various options available to resolve your IRS tax problems.
If you decide that representation is right for you, our Client intake department will send you additional material about AmeriStar's professional services, and schedule a time to meet with you to review the scope of services to be performed. We will review the required documents, the Power of Attorney, and answer any questions you have.
2. Instant Help
We will send to the IRS a Letter of Representation and a Power of Attorney form. Once processed by the IRS, these legal documents relieve the burden from your shoulders of dealing directly with the IRS - from now on AmeriStar Tax Centers will deal with resolving your tax problem for you.
If the IRS has taken any enforcement action against you {e.g. a levy or garnishment} AmeriStar Tax Centers will immediately request forbearance to temporarily remedy this IRS action. Most of the time, this is successfully accomplished for our clients. In order for the IRS to consider a petition for relief, you must be "tax compliant". We will work with you to file all unfiled tax years and submit upto date financial information to the IRS.
3. Tax Resolution
Resolving your IRS liability is a team-effort between you and AmeriStar Tax Centers - your job will be to prepare supporting documents for your offer (e.g. pay stubs, bank statements, 401k statement, etc.). AmeriStar will supply you with a detailed list of required documentation and coach you through the steps to get your Tax Resolution offer ready for submittal (the faster that you are able to coordinate your information, the quicker that we can submit your offer!)
We have a high level tax professional, CPA, tax attorney or IRS Enrolled agent working directly with each customer. These people are consummate professionals and are daily in contact with the IRS on behalf of clients. They care very much about your situation and work tirelessly to communicate the results of your case. There is no magic wand to make tax issues go away quickly and we are very dependent on a client’s ability to respond timely to requests from the IRS. While your case is a complex matter and requires a lot of expertise working with taxing agencies, we will do the work, we just need you to remain compliant during the time we are representing you and follow our instructions. If at any time you have questions, simply ask for an update and explanation on the status of your file. We will spend as much time as necessary to help you understand the current situation you are in and hopefully be there with you when your case has been resolved and we are able to relay good information.
4. Compliance/Offer/Negotiation
AmeriStar Tax Centers will make certain that everything is in order for submission to the IRS. The goal is to maximize the probability that your offer, installment agreement, or alternative tax resolution is accepted to save you the most money.
While you may always represent yourself before the IRS to resolve back taxes and IRS problems, you may find dealing with the IRS frustrating, time-consuming, intimidating or all of the above and decide to hire professional tax help to negotiate a tax relief settlement with the IRS on your behalf.
AmeriStar Tax Centers tax attorneys, CPAs and or Enrolled Agents will handle negotiating and correspond with the IRS.
We ask that you be truthful, cooperate, promptly return calls and answer letters, make and keep appointments, provide information on a timely basis. Do not delay or miss important deadlines, this will affect the ability your tax professional to adequately represent you. |
